Gabe Balazs PT, DPT
Physical Therapist, Clinic DirectorGabe is the Physical Therapy Clinic Director for the Richmond clinic. He brings a multidisciplinary clinical background spanning outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, postoperative care, neurologic rehabilitation, acute care, and geriatric rehabilitation. Since entering the physical therapy profession in 2025, Gabe has developed a strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care and helping individuals return to the activities and lifestyles that are important to them.
Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Gabe spent more than 20 years in customer service and consultative sales, where he developed extensive experience building long-term relationships, educating customers, mentoring employees, and leading teams. His previous leadership experience includes serving as a regional Sales Director, managing a team and more than 200 customer accounts, as well as operating as a Client Advisor and mentor within the automotive industry. These experiences have helped shape his approach to communication, team development, problem-solving, and creating positive experiences for patients and staff.
Gabe earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Bellarmine University in 2025. His clinical education included experiences in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, acute care, neurologic rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary care, wound care, geriatrics, and postoperative rehabilitation. He has additional training in dry needling, manual therapy, pain science, motivational interviewing, therapeutic alliance, and athlete rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinic, Gabe is actively involved in martial arts as a Judo coach and program manager, working with both youth and adult athletes. His background as a coach has strengthened his passion for mentorship, movement, discipline, continuous improvement, and helping others achieve their goals.
As Physical Therapy Clinic Director, Gabe is committed to developing a collaborative team culture, delivering high-quality patient care, supporting professional growth, and building strong relationships with patients, physicians, and the Richmond community. His leadership philosophy is grounded in continuous improvement—striving to make each patient interaction, clinical decision, and team experience better than the last.
Kyle Mullins OTD, MS, OTR/L, CHT

Kyle Mullins OTD, MS, OTR/L, CHT
Certified Hand TherapistKyle has been at Commonwealth Hand & PT since its opening in 2016. He earned a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University in 2014.
Since that time, Kyle has worked exclusively in hand therapy, developing extensive knowledge and skills in a wide range of upper extremity conditions. He earned his Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) designation in 2018. In 2022, he completed his Doctorate of Occupational Therapy at Spalding University. He is also certified in the use of Deep Physical Agent Modalities and has a DPAM supervisor designation. Kyle uses a variety of splinting and treatment techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients.
He feels privileged to work with such a talented group of therapists.
Outside the clinic, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife and family, working on home projects, and following/attending Kentucky basketball and football.

Occupational TherapistArial Conn is an occupational therapist with eight years of experience specializing in the care of critically ill and medically complex patients in long-term acute care. She also brings valuable clinical depth from her work in home health and long-term care, allowing her to support patients across a wide spectrum of needs. Arial has always had a strong interest in hand therapy and has spent the past year and a half developing her skills within this specialty population with hopes of becoming a Certified Hand Therapist in the near future.
Arial earned her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Science from Eastern Kentucky University in 2013 and her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from EKU in 2015. She is passionate about helping patients regain independence through compassionate, evidence-based practice.
Outside of work, Arial enjoys leading worship, crafting, and spending time with her daughter, Charlotte, as well as with her family and friends. She strives to bring warmth, empathy, and creativity into everything she does—both in her professional life and beyond.
